About Belinda J Barnes

Helping people achieve their property goals is something I've been passionate about for more than 20 years. After a successful career as an HR Manager in the hospitality industry throughout the Middle East, I made the move to Golden Bay for a lifestyle change and have never looked back.

After obtaining my real estate licence, I joined First National Golden Bay and went on to complete both the National Certificate and National Diploma in Real Estate, along with gaining Associate Membership of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand in 2007.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of helping clients buy and sell a wide variety of properties, from family homes and coastal baches to farms, businesses, motor camps and commercial properties. My extensive local knowledge, honest communication and commitment to providing exceptional service allow me to guide clients confidently through every stage of the real estate journey.

Giving back to the community has always been important to me. Since 2015, I've served as Chairperson of the Golden Bay Housing Trust – He Whare Noho ki Mohua, and in 2021 I was honoured by Hato Hone St John with appointment as a Member of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Hato Hone St John of Jerusalem in recognition of my community service.

Outside of real estate, I enjoy reading, have a passion for Te Reo Māori, and share my home with my husband as well as two much-loved cats. Earlier in life, I competed in show jumping and dressage, and while living in Abu Dhabi I was even part of an all-female Morris dancing troupe—an experience that certainly sparked plenty of conversations!
